  • S IT MEAN WHEN 37 MILLION BEES DROP DEAdead_bees-4f748dc-intro-thumb-640xauto-32199
  • It means we’re in big trouble.
David Schuit, an Canadian beekeeper out of Ontario, lost all of his hives suddenly. Why? Because a nearby farm planted some corn. But how the hell does corn kill millions of bees? It’s not the corn, it’s the pesticides. The biggest threat to bees is a chemical compound called Neonicotinoids. These chemical kills bees faster than the queen can lay eggs, which causes a complete collapse of the hives. Eventually, the queen herself is no longer able to survives and dies as well. Before this, Mr. Schuit’s business was thriving. He was even about to expand his operation. Now, Schuit and his family live in what used to be their honey house. They have had to sell of their farm. So is it a Schuit problem and not your problem? No sir. You rely on bees just as much as the Schuits do. Bees pollinate the vast majority of food consumed by humans.
